Help - Quick search results

Use the Quick search to find film and people quickly. Use the Film search or Person search if you want to conduct more detailed searches.

The Search results page displays the results of your Quick search in two sections. The top section contains matching Person records, and the lower section contains matching Film records. Up to twenty (20) results will appear in each section. If more than 20 entries are found, more search results... will open a new page of search results containing up to 50 results for that record type (either Film or Person).

The Person section displays each match in alphabetical order by surname. Each Person search result contains the following information:

• Number of records found
• Name - Surname, first name. Birth and death dates will be included if there is more than one person with the same name or the person has died.
• Activity - Involvement in the film (whether cast, producer or costume designer). Up to three activities will be displayed per person.

The Film section displays each match in alphabetical order by film title. Each Film search result contains the following information:

• Number of records found
• Title
• Year - Generally release year.
• Country - Country of origin.
• Director

From the Search results page, you can view the Person record page for an individual person or the Film record page for an individual film record. Click the underlined film title/name to view the full record.

A tickbox ( ) appears to the left of each link to the full record. Clicking on the tickbox will add the record to a list of selected records which you may e-mail to yourself or others. If the tickbox is already selected ( ) next to a record, that record is already in your list of selected records.

Once you have selected all of the titles you wish to e-mail, click on the Selected records link in the toolbar to review the list.
