Help - Person search

The Person search page allows you to search for actors, directors, writers, and other cast and crew members in Film Index International by using a combination of the following search fields:

Click the linked field name above to learn more about that search field.

To conduct a search, either type the required search terms (individual names or words) into the relevant search boxes or select them from a browse index.

To search for people with awards, click the Show award search options link under the search fields, and choose the Award series or category you would like to find. If you decide not to search by award, click the Hide award search options link. The awards list will close and any award selections you have made will be cleared.

The Awards fields use a multi-select menu. Windows users can multi-select contiguous terms using SHIFT+Click and non-contiguous terms using CTRL+Click. Highlighted terms can be de-selected by moving the cursor to the relevant term and using CTRL+Click.

In the Person search page, you can combine search terms using Boolean and proximity searching, search for variations on search terms using truncation, and specify exact matching in phrase-indexed fields.

When you have finished entering your search criteria, click Search. The Search results page will appear displaying the results of your search.

Note: Between search boxes, all terms are treated by default as if they were combined using the Boolean operator AND.
