Film Index International is easy to use. The demo below will
show you the search screens and what results to expect. Click the View
link in each section below to see further information.

Film Index International home page - explore the
content of the site using the Quick search, Film
search, and Person search. View
To use the Quick search, simply type keywords into the Quick
search field and click go!.

Film search
|
Use the Film search to find details of an individual
film. You can search by film title, director, characters name,
synopsis keyword, awards won, and more.
NEW: The new Synopsis field means you can search for
all films containing a particular keyword, such as blackmail,
dog, or cooking. View

for Director: David Lean and Synopsis: war. Director's name,
year of release and production company are also displayed.

| NEW: The Durable URL allows
users to generate a stable link to person or film records, which
can be used to return to the record without running another
search. View |

Person search
|
The Person search page allows you to find people by
name, activity, award, etc. For example, putting "Coen"
in the name field will find anyone in the site with "Coen"
in their name.

| A Person record shows details
about a person and their career in film. View

If you would like to create a list of film or person records,
you can add them to your Selected records. There are two ways
to add a record to Selected records: from the Search
results page, and from the full record page.
To access your Selected records, click the Selected records
link (next) in the site navigation. View

The Selected records page shows your chosen records
with the selected tickbox. From this page, you can add notes
and e-mail selected records to any e-mail address (yours or
someone else's) and also click names or film titles to view
the full record again. View

| If you would like to view which searches
you have performed, click on the Search history link in the
navigation. The search histories for Film and Person are kept
separately. View |
